Milwaukee movie announced the dates for its eighth annual movie festival Tuesday. it's going to be the fourth straight 12 months that the movie festival will have run for 15 days.
Milwaukee movie additionally reported Tuesday that longtime supporters Donald and Donna Baumgartner have renewed their fiscal commitment to the movie pageant, pledging $600,000 via 2020.
The Baumgartners' pledge is the greatest and longest-time period funding commitment in the movie festival's history, said Jonathan Jackson, the Milwaukee movie competition's artistic and executive director.
The Baumgartners' contribution goes toward the film competition's highlight displays program; 2015's highlight films covered the Oscar-nominated film "formative years" and "Raiders!," about a bunch of young filmmakers who set out DIY-vogue to make their personal shot-for-shot remake of "Raiders of the misplaced Ark."
The 2015 Milwaukee movie festival had an attendance of 70,855, with 77 offered-out screenings. both of these totals have been increases from 2014, when 64,187 attended and there have been seventy two bought-out screenings.
The 2015 pageant confirmed 304 movies at 5 venues: the Landmark Oriental and Downer theaters, the instances Cinema and Avalon Theatre, and Fox-Bay Cinema Grill.
