"The curtain opening on the monitor. The scent of popcorn. Your generation will in no way comprehend that."
So opens the teaser trailer for French sci-fi film Ickerman, which imagines a future the place digital truth rules society. It appears like an eerily plausible future, as virtual truth makes headlines at 2016's tech expos and even at Sundance. just today, HitFix's Drew McWeeny speculated on the probability that superstar Wars is the property that can also carry digital fact into the mainstream.
however in Ickerman that wonderful tech has a depressing facet — the death of film theaters (a nightmarish future for any film fan!) and the hazards of being so plugged into VR that you need to be rescued returned to fact.
nowadays Ickerman filmmakers Raphaël Hernandez and Savitri Joly-Gonfard dropped a teaser trailer for the film. The teaser is extra like a proof-of-idea video — one with a Blade Runner-reminiscent city and a Tron-esque parkway that the duo created with a funds of handiest 1000 euros. C'est très chouette.
Watch the teaser below and scroll previous the video for more of what we know about Ickerman's plot and main character.
Hernandez and Joly-Gonfard plan to shoot Ickerman in early 2017. here is the synopsis we've at the moment:

As he tries to rescue his ally from the guru of this digital era, he falls into his imaginary world, appearing like the characters he admires, and provides back to this world part of reality.
